As an employer member of the Employer Coalition of Louisiana, you will immediately receive access to exclusive communications, resources and events. Our administrative team will reach out to confirm we have received your payment and send a welcome email. Please be prepared to provide the following:

Annual Membership Dues

  • What is the Employer Coalition of Louisiana?

    The Employer Coalition of Louisiana is an employer-led healthcare coalition founded in 2022. Membership includes employers, providers, hospitals, health plans, benefit consultants, and other interested parties. The Coalition is dedicated to collaboratively increasing the value of healthcare by lowering costs and improving safety, quality, and consumer experience. We are committed to providing quality, price, and cost transparency across the healthcare ecosystem and collaborating with stakeholders to align payment with high-value medical care.

  • How does the Coalition work?

    The Coalition is an initiative of the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum, a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to leading evidence-based, collaborative initiatives to improve the health of Louisiana. We have an Advisory Council that oversees our strategic priorities and provides tools and insight to guide our initiatives.

    Operationally, we hold frequent meetings, educational sessions, and events that allow for members to network and exchange ideas and learnings. The connections built among employers and stakeholders across the healthcare industry drive our collective influence as we work to lower costs, support consumers, and enhance the quality of healthcare in our state. All our members have a seat at the table and an opportunity to get involved.

  • Does the Coalition Provide Educational Opportunities?

    The continuing education of our members is a key element of our mission. Through our Summits, Forums, and meetings, we offer best practices and potential solutions to members to assist them in navigating complex topics associated with purchasing health plans and providing employee benefits. Many events have both in-person and virtual options. When registration fees apply, members receive a significant discount.

  • Who is eligible to join the Coalition?

    We welcome employers of all sizes, in all industries. This includes city and parish governments, school systems and colleges, and private businesses. We also encourage health plans, healthcare providers, vendors, brokers and other stakeholders to join our membership. These key stakeholders provide a multi-disciplinary forum and serve as resources to exchange ideas and best practices. Membership encourages cross-sector collaboration that fosters valuable connections and a comprehensive “voice” to help shape the future of healthcare in the state.

    We believe no single employer can create the impact needed to improve the quality and affordability of healthcare in Louisiana. Employers who work collaboratively with a unified voice can more effectively move the healthcare discussion and influence change with providers, health plans, and other partners to address healthcare affordability, quality, safety, and consumer experience. Greater cost transparency paired with quality measures are critical tools to level the playing field and allow employers to use strategies to lower costs and increase high-value care. Empowering employers and people with evidence-based data allow them to make more informed decisions.

  • How does the Coalition promote transparency?

    We believe that transparency is critical to advancing the quality and affordability for healthcare for all. The Coalition provides our members with insights and educational opportunities that lift the curtain and help bring clarity to hospital pricing. Resources include the RAND Hospital Price Transparency Study, the Sage Transparency Study, and the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) Interactive Hospital Cost Tool.

  • How is the Coalition Funded?

    Our Coalition is comprised of dues-paying members, and receives funding from Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum. The Coalition delivers multiple learning opportunities for our members and collaborative opportunities throughout the year and does outreach for sponsorship dollars. When aligned with the mission of the Coalition, grant work may also contribute funding.
