In 1952, the American Cyanamid Company broke ground in Waggaman, LA to build a facility for intermediate chemical production. Now known as Cornerstone Energy Park (CEP), our products include sulfuric acid, acrylonitrile, melamine, and urea. CEP has manufactured over 2m metric tons of product with our intermediate chemicals shipped across the globe. These building blocks are used in products ranging from home construction essentials like Greenboard drywall and particle board, transportation elements like car batteries and diesel exhaust fluid, and carbon fiber for commercial and military aircraft. CEP includes several entities working both separately and interdependently to meet production needs, promote growth and development, and manufacture essential products. Tenant collaboration at CEP enables the sharing of raw materials, site assets, utilities, infrastructure, and people. Our proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi River, major roadways, and five U.S. Class I railroads place us at the heart of the south’s largest intermodal transportation hub. With a convenient location in the oil and gas corridor, CEP maintains an advantage of national and international accessibility. CEP thrives on people power, staffed with approximately 600 skilled operators, maintenance staff, various support professionals, including our tenant’s operating staff.
